STFC Hands on the MoonA fantastic booklet with information and practical activities all linked to the Moon. Jam packed with creative ideas to bring you lunar Space Camp to life and engage and inspire your trainee astronauts. Follow the link to download and electronic copy or visit the STFC Website to order hard copies of this beautiful resource.
Ogden Trust Research CardsThese research cards identify six key Moon landings that have made contributions to space exploration over the years. This resource includes a writing framework to help students gather and process their research thoughts, ideas and further questions.
STFC - Borrow the MoonThe STFC Lunar Rocks and Meteorites Loan Scheme has been running since the mid 1980s. It has lent the NASA Moon rock discs and meteorites to thousands of schools, museums and outreach organisers.
MoonsaicsThis collection of five Moonsaics have been created by the National Schools' Observatory, they consist of five different images of the Moon, separated into multiple picture panels per image, much like a "giant jigsaw puzzle". Students are challenged to assemble the completed images, offering them the opportunity to fully explore the lunar surface in high definition detail.
Phizzi Focus - Moon LandingsThe historic Apollo 11 moon landing on 20 July 1969 was a momentous event in history that paved the way for future space exploration. The 50th anniversary of this significant event in 2019 is a fantastic opportunity for young learners to find out more about the Moon, early human space flight and how space exploration has changed our scientific understanding of our nearest neighbour in space.
Daytime Moon Viewing guideThis resource, from the Royal Observatory Greenwich, uses daytime viewing of the Moon to reinforce ideas learned in the classroom about light, shadow and the Moon itself. Advice is given on the best times to view the Moon, and the compulsory and optional equipment needed.

ESERO-UK Mission to the MoonThis collection of practical activities, investigations and games is all based on current lunar research. It supports many aspects of working scientifically and links to area of the curriculum including: earth and space, light and shadows, forces, materials, changes of state and rocks and soils. Activities are provided for children of different ages and have clear curricular and career links and opportunities developing problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity
Mission X: Train like an astronautMission X is supported by the UK Space Agency, ESA and NASA. It is a free education programme developed by NASA scientists and fitness professional working with astronaut and space agencies across the world. Mission X uses the excitement of space exploration to inspire students to learn more about nutrition, exercise, science and space exploration. The materials are available in a range of languages and are supported by a blog, teacher forum and videos. An international challenge activity takes place in January – March where additional special resources such as hook ups with astronauts and the international space station.
Moon Landings Timeline card sortThis simple card game can be used when teaching the topic of earth and space. The game can help children develop an awareness of the history of space travel and how we work scientifically in space. We have provided instructions for the game and three sets of 'cards' which need to be printed with the mission on one side and the date on the reverse.
Principia Space DiaryThe Principia Space Diary aims to help children find out more about the Principia mission, to strengthen literacy and visual literacy skills and engage children in STEM learning. The diary is supported over the six months of Tim's mission by lesson plans released each month. The teaching notes produced so far accompany this resource.
