Children from Brownlea Primary School on the Isle of Wight, Our Lady of Mount Carmel First School in Redditch and Richard Taylor School in Harrogate were delighted to get a message from Apollo astronaut Al Worden this term.
When celebrating the Apollo 50th Anniversary in the summer term, children from all of these schools practiced their letter writing skills to write to a real NASA Apollo astronaut. They told him all about how they had been celebrating this historical anniversary, as well as all about the Space Camp programmes that their teachers have set up. It was also a great opportunity to ask all the questions they had about living and working in space. A special thank you to @Space_Lectures for delivering the letter and a really special thank you to Al Worden for taking an interest in Space Camp schools and taking the time to support the project.

On Monday 21st October over 250 school students from primary and secondary schools across North Yorkshire had the once in a lifetime opportunity to quiz a world famous astronaut. Emma Crisell leads the Harrogate Space Camp partnership at Richard Taylor CE Primary school and when the Stephen Hawking Foundation offered the opportunity for a live link up with astronaut Chris Hadfield she ensured that this would be a fantastic opportunity for all the schools in the partnership.
